This 19th-century altar coffer keeps with the style of Ming-dynasty furniture with clean lines and minimal ornamentation. Originally used beside a kang platform bed in a woman's sleeping quarters, our carpenters, skilled in traditional methods, have elongated the legs to make it more functional for today. The delicate form of the hoof feet and slim legs focuses the eye on the body of the piece and contributes to the effortless simplicity of this coffer's design.
