Melon Form Limestone Side Table

Marked by expressive veining, this handsome table was carved in China’s Shanxi province out of a piece of solid limestone. Ribbed and rounded, the form suggests a melon, an ancient Chinese symbol of perpetuity. Traditionally used in a garden as a place to rest, it is also fantastic as a sculptural side table indoors or out.
