Provincial Display Stand

A Chinese artisan in Shangdong Province hand-carved this low table from a single select piece of walnut wood a hundred years ago. It was created with elegant simplicity, likely as a foot rest—though we prefer to use it today as a display stand. The wood has acquired a great patina and lustrous glow with age.
