This grand elmwood bench once provided versatile seating in the courtyard of a Qing-dynasty home. Not only was the sizable bench able to seat many guests during outdoor ceremonies, its imposing form could be used to barricade the home's tall courtyard doors. Embracing the raw beauty of unworked wood, the bench is made from a single piece of elmwood timber, supported by simple splayed legs. A celebration of nature, this beautifully aged bench is a fantastic way to add rich character and texture to the home.
