This 19th century apothecary cabinet from Northern China has 39 drawers that originally organized herbal medicine in a traditional pharmacy. Each drawer has three compartments and is labeled on the front. The cabinet is brilliantly constructed with mortise and tenon joinery. Its original lacquer finish has aged beautifully over time.
