Though rustic through wear, the rich lacquer finish on this petite chest still glows vibrant red. Like many furniture pieces made during the Qing dynasty (1644–1911), the chest, made around 1850, is a charming example of the ways in which artisans began to incorporate Western design elements into traditional furniture pieces. Featuring double doors outfitted with brass leaf pulls, the chest has open interior stocked with a single suspended drawer.

What They're Saying

Elizabeth Krueger | Elizabeth Krueger Design

“PAGODA RED was extremely supportive in helping to pull accessory options together for the Lake Forest Showhouse. After providing them with details and our vision on how we were looking to finish our space, Laurene helped curate options that made it easy for us to edit and finalize. It's also no surprise that the unique pieces we used in our showhouse space were some of the first to sell.”
