Deng Ying is a Beijing based artist who created a series of paintings on porcelain objects for Pagoda Red that includes this petite porcelain plate painted with a man offering a giant peach. Peaches are traditional symbols of longevity due to their mystic virtue of bringing immortality to those who eat them. A gift of a peach is a wish for a long and healthy life. The artist frequently looks at traditional culture with a fresh eye. She worked on this playful series at the Chinese imperial kilns in Jingdezhen with the hope that these symbolic objects would touch many. This plate is one-of-a-kind, signed and presented in a hand-made cushioned wood presentation box.

What They're Saying

Elizabeth Krueger | Elizabeth Krueger Design

“PAGODA RED was extremely supportive in helping to pull accessory options together for the Lake Forest Showhouse. After providing them with details and our vision on how we were looking to finish our space, Laurene helped curate options that made it easy for us to edit and finalize. It's also no surprise that the unique pieces we used in our showhouse space were some of the first to sell.”
