Scholars and their attendants traverse the curves of this delightful Qing-dynasty tealeaf jar executed in the traditional Chinese blue-and-white ceramic tradition. By 1900, when this container was made, tea drinking had already been an important part of Chinese culture for at least a thousand years. Hand-painted in cobalt blue on creamy white porcelain, the jar depicts a garden environment where one might entertain a guest over a cup of tea.

What They're Saying

Elizabeth Krueger | Elizabeth Krueger Design

“PAGODA RED was extremely supportive in helping to pull accessory options together for the Lake Forest Showhouse. After providing them with details and our vision on how we were looking to finish our space, Laurene helped curate options that made it easy for us to edit and finalize. It's also no surprise that the unique pieces we used in our showhouse space were some of the first to sell.”
