Part of a calligrapher’s set of tools, the brush washer was used to remove excess ink from brushes. Made of porcelain and decorated in the traditional blue-and-white style, this 19th-century vessel has a simple yet elegant round shape. Brushed with strokes of deep cobalt blue, the brush washer is decorated with delicate white prunus blossoms.
