This elegant porcelain jar, in a traditional ginger jar shape, was originally intended to hold spices. Dating from the 19th century when such jars became widely popular in China, the jar has a traditional hand-painted blue and white floral design. Blue and white porcelain originated in China thousands of years ago and has inspired ceramists worldwide ever since.
