Peking glass was an art form that became popular after 1696, when the Kangxi Emperor had a glass workshop built on the grounds of the imperial palace. While this precious bowl does not have the classic Peking Glass design cut into the glass, it does have smooth layer of clear glass on the inside and a simple, straightforward shape with a small rim and a gentle slope.
