This exquisite elmwood shallow wine table has simple stretchers, inset legs, and scrolled spandrels. It was commissioned in China’s Shanxi region over one hundred and fifty years ago when wealthy bankers and merchants who lived in the area frequently worked with talented carpenters to create furniture specifically for their homes and to their tastes. A table of this size and shape was called a “wine table” because it is easy to move and use indoors or out for tea or rice wine. The timbers have aged beautifully over time.

What They're Saying

Elizabeth Krueger | Elizabeth Krueger Design

“PAGODA RED was extremely supportive in helping to pull accessory options together for the Lake Forest Showhouse. After providing them with details and our vision on how we were looking to finish our space, Laurene helped curate options that made it easy for us to edit and finalize. It's also no surprise that the unique pieces we used in our showhouse space were some of the first to sell.”
