Placed on a low, raised platform called a kang, cabinets like these would have offered a family in a traditional 19th-century Chinese home flexible storage. They would have contained clothing or other household items and were used side by side or apart depending on the need. Made of dark and richly grained northern elmwood, the cabinets are handcrafted with rounded moldings and finished with a full moon lock plate and translate well now as end tables or bedside cabinets.

What They're Saying

Elizabeth Krueger | Elizabeth Krueger Design

“PAGODA RED was extremely supportive in helping to pull accessory options together for the Lake Forest Showhouse. After providing them with details and our vision on how we were looking to finish our space, Laurene helped curate options that made it easy for us to edit and finalize. It's also no surprise that the unique pieces we used in our showhouse space were some of the first to sell.”
