A thick, dark glaze clings to the gentle swell of this petite jar with strap handles, lingering on imperfections and dripping down onto the unfinished ridged base. Crafted in the late 19th century, the wide-mouth jar was once used to store food in a Qing-dynasty kitchen, as evidenced by its interior glaze. The lustrous dark glaze gives the jar a glassy appearance, textured by pitted wear that gives the pot fantastic character.
