This monumental 19th-century porcelain bowl from Southern China was beautifully painted by hand showcasing a serene land & water scape as well as a lotus motif. The Lotus flower is a Buddhist symbol of beauty because of its inherent nature to bloom, even in muddy water. This bowl was intended as a fish pond but would also work beautifully planted indoors or out. It is a wonderful example of Chinese blue and white porcelain that has been sought by connoisseurs for centuries.
