Marked by the telltale Bamileke rounded disc seat and base, this stool is an exceptional example in that its body is a pack of chameleons. As with most Bamileke stools, it was created out of a single tree trunk. The unusual lizards both decorate and support the seat, and further, the individual. In their traditional beliefs, chameleons are powerful symbols of good tidings, meaning this stool lifts its owner with the good news of the world. Under natural light, the cylindrical carving pattern reveals intricate shadows and negative space.

What They're Saying

Elizabeth Krueger | Elizabeth Krueger Design

“PAGODA RED was extremely supportive in helping to pull accessory options together for the Lake Forest Showhouse. After providing them with details and our vision on how we were looking to finish our space, Laurene helped curate options that made it easy for us to edit and finalize. It's also no surprise that the unique pieces we used in our showhouse space were some of the first to sell.”
