Provincial Three Drawer Bench

A Chinese artisan carved this bench out of elm wood about a century ago, but the classic design has a rustic appeal that many modern furniture makers try, usually without success, to emulate and recreate. Only age and continued use give wood this incredible character and wonderful feel. This bench was made in China’s Shanxi Province. Along with good storage, it brings texture and character to any space.
