Lotus and Sparrow Two Door Painted Chest

Sparrows flit about lotus blossoms as auspicious symbols of happiness, purity and good luck painted on this antique pine cabinet from Mongolia. Originally opening from the top, the cabinet has been reconfigured with doors outfitted with traditional hinges. The original lacquer finish has weathered beautifully, layered with the texture and patina that only time and wear can produce.
