A classic piece of Chinese furniture, this 19th century lacquered cabinet possibly once occupied a home in China’s Shanxi Province; its shelves filled with curios or embroidered silks. It stands proudly with a top board which extends slightly beyond the frame and doors constructed with extended pivotal hinges. The red lacquer has been reapplied layer upon layer by artisans practiced in this traditional art and is heavily crackled with a texture that calls to be touched.
