Long, narrow altar tables were the focal point of a traditional Chinese home, prominently displayed in the main hall as a place of family worship or as a display of precious objects. This long flush-sided table is beautifully proportioned with a solid plank top surface set upon scrolled sleeping dragon carved legs. Constructed in the mid-19th century with mortise-and-tenon joinery techniques, the table is made of carved northern elmwood (yumu) and cloaked in dark black lacquer, now beautifully aged from use.

What They're Saying

Elizabeth Krueger | Elizabeth Krueger Design

“PAGODA RED was extremely supportive in helping to pull accessory options together for the Lake Forest Showhouse. After providing them with details and our vision on how we were looking to finish our space, Laurene helped curate options that made it easy for us to edit and finalize. It's also no surprise that the unique pieces we used in our showhouse space were some of the first to sell.”
