This shallow elmwood plank top table was made 150 years ago in the Shanxi region of China. A prime example of Qing Dynasty furniture, the table has an elegant, slim geometric apron and is beautifully proportioned and so combines practical considerations with aesthetic principles. The legs are concave carved, creating a bead that details the edge of each. The elmwood was harvested from the forests in Northern China and was a wood popular among Chinese artisans because of its delicate feather-like patterning. The original lacquer finish on the table has aged beautifully over time.

What They're Saying

Elizabeth Krueger | Elizabeth Krueger Design

“PAGODA RED was extremely supportive in helping to pull accessory options together for the Lake Forest Showhouse. After providing them with details and our vision on how we were looking to finish our space, Laurene helped curate options that made it easy for us to edit and finalize. It's also no surprise that the unique pieces we used in our showhouse space were some of the first to sell.”
