Hand-carved from limestone, this drum-shaped pedestal swells to a ribbed squash shape, an ancient symbol of fertility. The sculptor used a hobnail-like texture on each end of the pedestal to suggest the rivets used to fasten skin stretched across a drum head. We love the stone drum as a low garden stool or as a display for potted plants.
