Pair of Elmwood Emperors Chairs

Displaying the beautiful grain of Chinese Elmwood and a rich, dark patina, this pair of 19th-century emperor chairs have a refined, understated presence. Also known as “yokeback” chairs for the way in which the tops of the chair backs resemble an oxen yoke, the chair is accented with curved back slats and scrolled detailing on the seat apron.
