This handsome chest was made in the city of Tianjin, China 150 years ago. It might have been used to store a family’s silks and embroidered robes, or as an altar where they would have paid respects to their ancestors. The classic design is emblematic of the Qing Dynasty style sought after by collectors. The polished Elmwood, concealed joinery, and brass hardware have a timeless appeal.
