This Tibetan Thangka, or sacred painting, is about 200 years old and features the enlightened Bodhisattva Manjusri (who is associated with transcendent wisdom), as the central figure. The rich red, green, yellow, and blue pigments are incredibly vibrant. The silk brocade backing or matte was added in the early 20th century and has since been carefully mounted on linen.
