Taikkun Li, whose work was recently selected to represent the contemporary evolution of Chinese ceramics at the University of New Mexico Museum, is a well-respected multimedia artist. Created by the artist for Pagoda Red, this series of hand-painted porcelain apples was fired at the traditional Chinese imperial kilns in Jingdezhen. In traditional Chinese culture, apples are symbols of peace, because the Mandarin words for both sound similar. This apple is painted with a landscape scene, generally believed to communicate the natural balance and harmony of the universe. Each apple is signed by the artist.

What They're Saying

Elizabeth Krueger | Elizabeth Krueger Design

“PAGODA RED was extremely supportive in helping to pull accessory options together for the Lake Forest Showhouse. After providing them with details and our vision on how we were looking to finish our space, Laurene helped curate options that made it easy for us to edit and finalize. It's also no surprise that the unique pieces we used in our showhouse space were some of the first to sell.”
