Deng Ying is a Beijing based artist who created an accessible series of paintings on porcelain objects for Pagoda Red that includes this petite porcelain box painted with a pair of peaches, traditional Chinese symbols of Spring, justice and Daoist immortality. The pair emphasizes togetherness. The artist worked on the series at the Chinese imperial kilns in Jingdezhen with the hope that these playful and symbolic objects would touch many. A small container in this shape would have traditionally been used to contain ink for an artists seal stamp. Today, it is just right for jewelry or keepsakes. The box is signed and presented in a hand-made cushioned wood presentation box.

“Over the years, I’ve incorporated many pieces from PAGODA RED into my designs. Not only can they balance new furnishings (and often new construction) by feeling more established, but the pieces emanate a sense of rich history, often leaving you wondering where they were in a previous life. These beautiful pieces carefully hand-selected by the team at PAGODA RED, coupled with their unbelievable customer service, make them a must-have for any home.”
