"H(our) Glass" Kite by Michael Thompson

Chicago based artist, Michael Thompson, creates unique kites crafted from split bamboo frames covered with stretched muslin and a collage of vintage Asian ephemera—including kimonos, obis, paintings, scrolls, drawings, and book pages collected on his travels. Frequently he finishes the works with abstract painting. Michael Thompson has been creating kites for more than a decade. His kites have been exhibited internationally.
