As a boy Chinese artist Liu Jian was sent with his parents to the re-education camps of Maoist China, and despite their poverty they found Money for ink and paper. The boy began the traditional calligraphy lessons that changed his life and influence his work even today. Dreamscape 4 is a superb example of his newest phase of artistic exploration: blending of traditional and abstract styles through classic Chinese ink paintings.
