A skilled Mongolian artisan made this beautiful, antique cabinet. The craftsmanship is evident in the intricately painted floral designs and concealed hinges and joinery. The cabinet is painted with distinctively eastern aesthetic, but the simple, solid design lends it a charming, rustic feel. A cabinet like this was sometimes commissioned as part of a woman’s dowry and then later used as a family altar.
