This 19th century hand-crafted bronze hand warmer would have been owned by a woman of means and filled with coals so she could warm her hands on cold winter nights. The top is beautifully pierced with a Chrysanthemum design. Coming into bloom in the fall, chrysanthemums provided a shock of vibrant beauty as most flowers were going dormant for the winter. Because of this, they are popular symbols in Chinese art and culture referencing autumn and endurance.

What They're Saying

Elizabeth Krueger | Elizabeth Krueger Design

“PAGODA RED was extremely supportive in helping to pull accessory options together for the Lake Forest Showhouse. After providing them with details and our vision on how we were looking to finish our space, Laurene helped curate options that made it easy for us to edit and finalize. It's also no surprise that the unique pieces we used in our showhouse space were some of the first to sell.”
