Hand-carved from two solid blocks of limestone, these early 20th century vessels each feature a pair of divided basins. This distinctive double gourd form is a symbol of fertility considered to be good luck, it is also a Daoist emblem of immortality. The expressive creatures at the front of the vessels are mythical Qilin, bringers of joy and benevolence. These significant stone vessels make a statement indoors or out.
