Round Stone Basin

This 19th-century round stone basin was carved by hand, and like many Chinese designs, has an elegantly simple form. In China, rock as an element is classified as "yang" because it is strong, hard, durable, and "male." It is an element that would be well balanced by delicate flowers and lush greenery. A small drainage hole through its base turns this beautifully aged stone basin into the perfect garden planter.
