Provincial Spun Vessel

China’s ceramic tradition covers the entire span on Chinese history, with the first vessels being made around 6,000 B.C. Crafted in 1900 in Shanxi province, this pot pays tribute to this long and illustrious tradition in a perfectly formed, elegantly simple vessel. Abstract patterns emerge out of the timeless wear and hand-wrought imperfections, giving this traditional vessel a sculptural presence.
