Created in China's Shanxi province in the 19th-century, this hand-painted panel once concealed a compartment within a large cabinet. To the delight of its owners, each time the cabinet door was opened they were greeted by the image of this charming young boy tooting a horn. Children were a popular motif in Chinese artwork, and this youngster was considered a lucky talisman, especially for prospective parents hoping for a healthy pregnancy.

What They're Saying

Elizabeth Krueger | Elizabeth Krueger Design

“PAGODA RED was extremely supportive in helping to pull accessory options together for the Lake Forest Showhouse. After providing them with details and our vision on how we were looking to finish our space, Laurene helped curate options that made it easy for us to edit and finalize. It's also no surprise that the unique pieces we used in our showhouse space were some of the first to sell.”
