Made in Mongolia around the turn of the 20th century, this skillfully crafted cabinet has a simple, solid design that gives it a rustic, provincial feel. Expertly constructed, the wooden cabinet features concealed hinges and joinery as well as a floating panel top that allows the wood to expand and contract without splitting. Delicately painted with a floral motif, the four-door cabinet may have been commissioned as part of a woman’s dowry. Works wonderfully today as a credenza, sideboard or storage dresser.
