A lustrous dark glaze slicks the surface of this tabletop wine jar, lingering ever so slightly on the subtle ridge of the jar's broad shoulders. Sculpted in the early 20th century, this jar was once used in a Qing-dynasty home to store and serve wine, as evidenced by its narrow neck and interior glaze. Contrasted by an unfinished base, the even glaze has a glossy finish that gives the pot fantastic character.
