This grand cypress bench once provided versatile seating in the courtyard of a Qing-dynasty home. Not only was the sizable bench able to seat many guests during outdoor ceremonies, its imposing form could be used to barricade the home's tall courtyard doors. Softened by a rich patina, the beautifully aged bench bears traces of the original painted surface. With clean lines and simple splayed legs, the bench's angular form feels surprisingly contemporary and fits effortlessly into modern interiors.

What They're Saying

Elizabeth Krueger | Elizabeth Krueger Design

“PAGODA RED was extremely supportive in helping to pull accessory options together for the Lake Forest Showhouse. After providing them with details and our vision on how we were looking to finish our space, Laurene helped curate options that made it easy for us to edit and finalize. It's also no surprise that the unique pieces we used in our showhouse space were some of the first to sell.”
