This early 20th-century document chest once provided a Qing-dynasty administrator in old Canton with ample storage space for organizing flat documents and important papers. A statement piece cloaked in a recent red lacquer finish, the cabinet has three drawers and a large lower compartment, each punctuated by a teardrop brass pull. With clean lines and fantastic character, this document cabinet is a striking way to add color to an interior.
