Buried with their flared mouths facing down, these cylindrical storage vessels protected the deceased's possessions as they transitioned to the afterlife. Decorated with complex incisions and dimples, these solid, earthy vessels maintain a stoic sculptural presence. This particular example strips away the more complicated fields featured in the rest of our collection. A single geometric motif emerges as a well-defined focal point.
